Free FM will be a new online radio station based in Ipswich, about 40 minutes west of Brisbane, in the Sunshine State of Queensland, Australia.

We will be launching on 30 April 2026 as part of the Free Radio Network, a 100% Family-Owned Australian Business, so please keep checking back here and on our social media pages (links above) for when we have more exciting news for you! We are building everything at the moment, but as you can imagine, it doesn't happen overnight. However, we are a tad excited! We hope you can join us as we embark on a very special journey.

Why are we launching on 30 April?

The station’s launch date carries personal and symbolic significance. 2026 marks twenty years since the passing of Fay Spargo (Thomas), Aunty to Founder and Content Director of Free Radio Network, who played a formative role in his early life and career direction. During a period of family rebuilding, she provided stability, encouragement and belief that would later shape his professional path in media.

The chosen launch date, 30 April, also marks the birthday of her daughter, Errin, Daniel's cousin. Selected with family blessing, the date represents not only remembrance, but continuity — honouring legacy while moving forward.
